About Us
Environment Nevada Research & Policy Center
Clean water to drink and clean air to breathe; healthy beaches, lakes and rivers that are safe for swimming and fishing; preserved open spaces; clean sources of energy that don’t pollute and never run out — all this should be the heritage we leave to future generations. Our staff research the issues, educate the public, and win tangible results.
About Us
Research
Investigating problems and crafting solutions
Tackling air pollution in Nevada: When power plants burn coal, oil or gas, they create the ingredients for ground-level ozone pollution, one of the main components of smog pollution. Repeated exposure to ozone can cause permanent lung damage and can even kill. Our report, “Dirty Energy’s Assault on our Health,” shines a spotlight on the health risks of ozone pollution and sets forth practical policy recommendations for cutting dangerous toxic emissions.
Education
Educating the public and making our voices heard
In 2011, we informed thousands of Nevadans about ways to use less energy, save fuel and save money. By taking simple steps at home, the average Nevadan can take control of their energy use, reducing emissions and decreasing our reliance on fossil fuels.
